Fibers

My art captures the quiet, transitional moments of life cycles found in nature using fibrous material. With an appreciation for the wabi-sabi aesthetic; wholeness, brokenness and rebirth are presented in shifting imagery honoring the beauty found in nature’s various life cycles. Hand-dyed, cast-off or stained cloth reflect the range of strength to fragility. My goal is to use nature’s imagery, realistic or abstracted, as a metaphor for viewers to examine their own human condition. I hold a Master of Fine Art degree and served as a professor of art before retiring.
