This painting I call Moonshine Runners repose is inspired by the many old, abandoned cars and trucks old barns and farmsteads that you can see in the countryside of North Carolina. One can imaging there perhaps in the past these old rusting vehicles surrounded by flowers may one had been used to deliver moonshine to their neighbors or buyers.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is world renowned, for its amazing panoramic views. of the Appalachian Mountains, along its entire length. The is my impression in watercolor of just one such long distance views to the layers of mountains you will see.

I began my love of watercolor painting in college while studying Landscape Architecture. I depicted and rendered architectural perspectives in watercolor. I worked for the National Park Service for 36 years in many parks in the western states and the southeast. I finished my career working on Blue Ridge Parkway for 16 of those years. While traveling many parks, and the Blue Ridge Parkway I did landscape paintings of the scenes i experiences in these parks. Most of my paintings for this website will be of landscapes along Blue Ridge Parkway, or the southeast. I paint exclusively in watercolor using many techniques.
